Related to the field of Governmental Relations is the practice area known as Administrative Law. Those trained and skilled in administrative law issues are fully acquainted with the rules, regulations and procedures for appearing before or challenging the decisions of governmental agencies.

The field of administrative law has expanded tremendously in the last ten years. The legislature has shifted the initial venue for the determination of disputes with or before governmental agencies to administrative law courts and judges. It is felt that hearings before administrative law judges (ALJ) without a jury is more efficient for the determination of disputes between the government and those who want to do business with the government or who need governmental approval, permission or licensing to do business.

Clearly every person and business in the United States is affected by regulations issued by state and federal agencies. Legislative and administrative hearings can involve decisions which adversely affect you. If you find yourself involved in a matter before the administrative law courts, it is strongly recommended that you hire an attorney to represent you. Otherwise, your rights may be compromised.

BQS attorneys appear often in the administrative law court system. Our attorneys have appeared regularly before such administrative agencies as the Public Service Commission, the Workers’ Compensation Commission, the State Procurement Board, the Social Security Administration, the Department of Health and Environmental Control and many others.

If you have any further questions about administrative law, please do not hesitate to contact us.
